Coming Together for Hurricane Relief Efforts

By Kelly Daniels and Julene Allen

Hurricane Harvey left people in devastation all over the world. It has been said to have made its way through the Windward Islands, Suriname, Guyana, Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, Yucatán Peninsula, United States, particularly Texas and Louisiana. This week, the  hostile Hurricane Irma pushed its way through the Caribbean and heads toward Florida. Lean In Ohio is asking for your help.

The Lean In Ohio chapter has 385 members according to the LeanIn.Org hub and on Meetup, we have 652 members. Collectively we can make an impact if we each provided a tangible donation (not monetary) towards those being affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma.

Millions of people lose irreplaceable items everyday all over the world. It is hard to even fathom the losses.

We would recommend considering the following as donation:

Feminine hygiene products- tampons, pads, soap, wipes

Baby products- diapers, wipes, rash cream, pack & plays, receiving blankets, clothes!!

Children needs- books, games, coloring books, crayons, journals, stuffed animals, blankets

General (children, women, men) needs- towels, washcloths, socks, underwear, hygiene products, bug spray, shoes, flip-flops, cots, sleeping bags, sweaters, jackets, hats

The following depots, drop-offs, collection sites are legitimate locations for donations.
